We look to advance but so often retreat

Lofty ideals that have guided my way

Fade to the background as we live day to day (we live day to day)

Little obsessions that consume all our thoughts

Reaching for life lines get us tied up in knots

Looking for something that might open the door

Sitting and watching as we wish we had more

But the habits in our mind, seem to keep us deaf and blind
